Think you want something like a Network Media Streamer can get wireless ones.....
Stream media to it from a computer, some of them have ability to select what you want to play etc.

If I understand what you want, you want to watch PC content on your TV ?
I have a Western Digital HD media player, it's a small black box which plugs into your TV and allows you to play HD content (as well as normal
res).
Mine cost me £70, plus an external hard drive to store the films/programs etc.
The new version doesn't need any external storage, it has wifi and reads files directly from your PC, it's more money, but if anything
like the older version, it's brilliant and sounds like exactly what you're after
An example of the menu system is HERE

Ah right, my brother has his PC set up like you want.
He has a wired connection for video and uses a wireless keyboard which has a mouse-type-joystick on it.
Most video cards have 2 outputs nowadays, just have the monitor plugged in one and the TV in the other and switch between 'em.
I can't help more than that, but at least it's possible

whack some bits into one of
these and your graphics card can upscale to your tv. OK, you have another box in your living room but you are freeing up your PC for others to
use.
There are no bottlenecks due to the speed of network kit or interference etc.
This is what I do and we can watch DVD's or game on a 42" full HD with surround sound...................Bluray players are coming down in
price as well so you could fit one in there to
and..............Bob's your mothers brother!

I did this a while back.
The easiest way (and cheapest) is to have the PC in a cupboard under the TV so that you have a VGA cable to the TV direct from the
"Master" PC.
This then allows for wireless keyboard with trackball, and you just need another "Slave" PC networked to the master to replace the master
location above so that others can use it...
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

As above.... build a media PC and sit it under the TV..
For £150 you should be able to build something quite impressive... plus add a few more ££ and you could stick a blueray player in it...
Ebuyer have some good small cases and motherboards

You'll need another machine. You'll lose a lot of image quality trying to send between rooms. I wouldn't use the VGA connector on a
TV try and go for HDMI input. You'll need a wireless keyboard and mouse.
Use an Acer Aspire Revo (£150-300 depending on spec, some have wireless mouse and keyboard included)... They are tiny and capable of playing full 1080
HD via HDMI to your TV... You can even VESA mount it to the back of the TV so you don't see it.
Just looking into one myself to replace my current media PC I have connected to the TV which is struggling to keep up.
