PC blowing fuse?

I installed a new home PC just before Christmas and the 5A fuse in the power lead plug has blown twice now. It's happened when I've turned on the PC. I'm wondering if it's the PC that's at fault or if it's possibly due to the surge protected extension lead I have the PC plugged into.

Any ideas?

Phil

You may need to put a slow blow fuse rated at five amps.
the startup surge may be just enough to take the fuse out.

try it without the surge protector and see if it works.

could be the power supply if it still does it.

Anybody know where I can buy a standard size (1" x 0.25" 5A slow blow fuse from? I've tried e-bay but the ones they sell are 20mm x 5mm.

You could try a 13A one, if it blows that you got problems

My PC needs a 7A fuse...

Depends on your power supply requirement - you do get quite a surge at start up, but should be ok after that.
