Working on 2 pc's with one monitor
Is it possible? If so, is it also possible to use the same keyboard/mouse with the two?
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

use a kvm switch all day at work - wonderful things apart from one issue - you can't cut and paste between monitors.
the other option is to run something like VNC so you can connect to the other machines desktop. This allows cut and paste but is a security nightmare.

Have installed hundreds of KVM and use them all day like Mike. Great bits of kit.
Cheers,
James
P.S. alternatively, some monitors have 2 inputs with a switch between them. But you'd have to have 2 keyboards/mice then which is a pain.

2PC's with 2 Monitors and
ONLY 1 Keyboard and Mouse
is also possible
You need software (free) called Synergy (linky) and the machines to be networked together
I use it with 3 Machines and 4 Monitors (& 2 different OS's) Daily with no Probs
Scot's do it better in Kilts.
