rose joints on solidworks

Hi guys,

Just a quick one, does anyone know how to make rose joints on solidworks? I need to connect a bell crank to a rocker arm and a simple connector wont do.

Cheers Guys

Yes, they are easy actually. I have some modelled in SW 2008.....if don't get what you need by this evening U2U me and I'll send you a model.

Mine are modelled as an assembly with them swivelling around the ball as they should.

Quite easy to make, if you need one i can send you one i did.

You can also put limits on the movement

Make them in 2 parts, the outer, and inner, then make the assembly, so the parts move (or that is the way i did it)

If this hasn't already been solved - as mentioned, just model the "ball" and "socket" seperately and then use a point constraint between the two, allowing full rotational freedom. You can set limits relative to the axis of the hole in the ball and the plane parallel to the flats on the "socket".

Sorry, I'm not a Solidworks user, I'm not aware of its capabilities or methods of assembly constraint. If you had Catia I could tell you...
