sound of silence
listening to some music on my compo and was getting annoyed at the constant buzzing through the speakers,had a wiggle with the speaker plug,removed
and replaced the plug....now i have only silence,have i blown something up?????

on my computer if you disconnect the speakers then put them back on a screen comes up the ask what the are so maybe you need to set them up again

Did you put the plug back in the microphone socket? The right one is probably green.
Other than that you've probably broken the earth wire - which may have been on it's way out and the cause of the buzzing.

Probably blown it, you're not supposed to remove or replace it with the power on. Is it a separate sound card or onboard system ?
