Help - x64 Win 7 driver for parallel port card

I need a parallel port on my new PC, and I happen to have an old (LAVA) PCI card - but win 7 (x64 pro) can't find drivers for it

anyone know where I can find any ?

Think you'll be lucky, I believe all 64 bit drivers need to be signed and that costs the oems dosh so they only do if they have to.

Maybe wrong though. I think it'll be a purchase of a usb to parallel converter if these are available in 64 bit.

Cheers

found an unsinged driver that seems to work hidden on LAVA's own site but the dongle software doesen't like win7 or x64 or something (not even with everything set for XP compatability)

I'll have to get the laptop (my one is that old - ideal for MJ tunning though) or one of the old PC's out, I could really have done with the extra punch of my i7 though

I could shove a spare copy of XP on a second disc, but that'd take even longer.....

-Thanks anyway

Have you tried letting windows 7 search for drivers itself by using add new hardware?

We have the same problem connecting to older equipment.... The serial port is a similar problem as these usb thingys dont work with 9600 baud ports.

Good to see you at the show
PAT

And upgrading 100 million bucks worth of telecoms equipment aint going to happen

Get the hardware IDs from device manager and put them into www.devid.info. If a driver is out there, this will let you get it.

yes, first off it tried itself - then I forced it to do it again and it still didn't like it

but the LAVA driver seems to have worked (not that I've got much left to test it with)

It's an old parallel port version of a HASP4, and I can't get a new one on a USB

did get a new version of the HASP4 software which seemed to install ok - but the program itself doesn't like that
the program installs ok - but security bit at the end of the install won't install some *.dll file - any thoughts ?

(btw - its not cubase)
