turning circle
hi, i have problems with my locosts turning circle or lack of it. I have heard of the achermann angle an do not seem to have a difference on inside
and outside wheels. will moving the steering rack forward or backwards increase this angle. also wheels could turn further but my steering rack will
not go anyfurther. solutions please

Usually more technical solutions appear after more technical info is given.
What steering rack is it?
What uprights are used?
etc, etc...
If you don't privide this advice then I'm afraid you will get stuff posted by people who have lesser technical knowledge on topics such as
ackerman etc.

to be honest my striker's turning circle appears bad,sure the escort the rack came off must have been better,but then it could be the fact your
sat over the back axle i look a noob missing carpark spaces!

ok,
1, steering rack is mk1escort lock to lock is 2.5.
2, uprights are cortina
3, steering rack is forward of the wheels
4, turning circle is 14 + meters
5, wheels could turn approx 2-3 inches more before hitting the body, but rack stops short.
Has before was wondering if altering the position of the rack would alter this as the track rod angles would change.

Or very light throttle --- amaze you how much even a little throttle increases the turning circle. At full lock and anything above 1mph slip angles
come into play.

I noticed a fair improvement in steering lock when I fitted a 2.9 quick rack from RD but if your wheels foul the body work it won't help
