I think i killed my gearbox (zzr1100)

Hi, When i first put my zzr1100 in my car it was allways clunky when selecting gear even with clutch engaged. now there appears to be almost 30 degrees of play or backlash in the out put shaft and sounds relay clunky at low rev,s with the wheels on axle stands. Any ideas and are they easy to strip down and inspect.

The gearbox will sund awful if you are running with no load on stands - loads of banging and clanking as the dogs backlash and bounce - I bet if you drag the handbrake it gets better just because you have applied a load.
The backlash you can feel is just the dog moving up to engagement and is usual with a bike box - the onlt time to worry is hen they start missing gears or jumping out, hope that helps
regards
Andy
