on-screen video & audio recording software

Hey up!

I know one of you no doubt is using or has used this type of software before so can anyone give any recommendations?

It simply needs to be able to record my activity on-screen and put into a video/flash format so others can view it and see what I did.

One caviat - it needs to be free!

any suggestions? oh, and it will be fore windows (but if anyone knows of a Mac one then please let me know)

We use NCH Debut screen capture at work for some presentations. Granted, it's not free, but I've heard something about a torrent being available <cough> if you wanted to try it out before buying it?
