To run or save ?
When you download software from the net, you are usually asked " Do you want to run or save ? "
Even after years on computers I have no idea what is the correct answer and why.
Can you enlighten me ?
I'm addicted to brake fluid, but I can stop anytime.

I would say save because if you try to run it before it is downloaded then it will take longer and might go wrong.
Also if you have the downloaded file you can manually scan the file for viruses before running it.
And you will have a copy of the file for future use if you need it.
Just my thoughts

Depend a lot on what it is and if your going to want it again.
Save gives you the option to select where you want to save it, then do as you wish with it, such as open it.
Run saves it to a temp directory, then when its downloaded, opens it for you.
So for instant if its a streaming audio file, or an update for firefox yor going to use once, click run.
If its a program your going to be using again and again, and you only want to download it once, hit save and stick is somwhere suitable that you can
go back to time and time again.

no correct answer
if you say run it'll save it in a temp folder somewhere then run it (and hopefuly delete the temp file afterwards)
if you say save you get to chose where the file goes and when to run it, also it won't get deleted aftewards so you could run it again or stick
it on a disc (e.g. an *.exe)

I would always save it but then that's because I like to use a few different virus scanners to check it out Which you can't do if you
run it (then you're just relying on your built in virus scanning shield if there is one!!)....

if you run it, it will save in temp files so will fill that up quickly.
i save everything to desktop i download incase there is issues installing or i need to keep it.
EG deamontools installs a few drivers then restart and finish the install the rest. this will need the file to be saved.
