Free websites
Looking to create a website for my business. Not too bothered what it is like as I have no need to advertise as I am constantly very busy through
recommendation etc. But I thought it may be nice just to have showcase of work I have done for prespective clients to have a look at. (I carry out
property maintenance and refurbishment). I see there is a whole range of freebie/locost ones online, anyone had any experience/ recommendations, the
site must be easy to use and allow me to upload pics etc. Barry

Hi Barry. The problem with the free ones is that generally they either look a bit shite or are covered with adverts that just make it look a bit
Naff...

I used jimdo but although free it does not allow redirection or support search engines. In other words unless you know the exact address nobody can
find the blessed thing!
For a monthly fee they will lift the restriction but like you I'd rather have a free one
You'd be surprised how quickly the sales people at B&Q try and assist you after ignoring you for the past 15 minutes when you try and start a

Not free, but cheap (£30-£50 per year, IIRC): 1and1.co.uk. My wife used to run a catering business - just her - and used a simple website to show what
she did and give contact details. Not sure how much they charge now, but might be worth a look?
Here you go:
linky
£2.49 a month for the basic one.

you could just make your own... costs are small.
£8 per year for your domain name e.g. www.LBMEFM.co.uk
£25 per year for your hosting (where your website files are kept)
Most hosting accounts come with free auto-install website software e.g. Joomla, Wordpress etc. You can then simply change the content and the page
titles, upload your photos and you have a website. Plus as you own the hosting, there are no adverts. There is plenty of free support for them all as
well on the web if you do get a little stuck.
If you want a good webhost company, I always recommend Orchard Hosting. Been with them for 9 years and
never any problems. Plus good customer service.
