USB - Serial adapter for Magajolt advice needed
My last T23 laptop has just packed up, so I dont have a laptop with a serial port any longer.
Does anyone have experience of using a USB-Serial adapter with MJLJ?
A brand, supplier, whether it uses the FTDI or prolific chipset etc. would be useful.
Any help gratfully received.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

The most frequent problem is the adaptor populating a different com port every time, the com ports are then populated above com port 10, megajolt tune
can only see com port 1 to 10 zo you have to go in to device manager and delete devices on the required com port.
The V4 jolt uses Ethernet cable and does not suffer the com port problem

It still connects to a serial port ,its just that the connector is an Ethernet plug at the megajolt end.I found the USB leads sold by Maplins work
ok.
