cant download attachments

hi all.

its something to do with my new laptop, for some reason i cannot download attachements from hotmail emails. You click on them, the green bar goes across, and nothing happens. Ive tried shift-click and ctrl-click, to no avail.

Im sure its a setting thing somewhere, but windows 7 is all new to me, and google has too many different problems.

Any pointers?

Cheers!

Have you tried right clicking, open in new window?

Or make a note of the name of the file and do a search for it. maybe in the downloads folder

Joel sounds very much like you have a P.E.B.K.A.C. Error in your operator systems.

It happens to most folks who use HOTMAIL but dont worry someone will be along shortly to explain the fix

I have this issue with some e-mails. because I know SFA about the Devil's Engines. (computers to you), i found that if I drag and drop it into a new Word document, I can then open it.
Obviously not the correct 'fix', but hey, it works for me.

cant drag it it seems, also when i hover the mouse over the download button it just says 'javascript' at the bottom, so there is no url to copy.

might try a java update.

windows 7 is a pile of crap.

Javascript has nothing to do with java other than Netscape hijacking the name for a marketing gimmick.

it wasnt me, it was hotmail! Google found loads of people with the same problem, some blaming silverlight, and hotmail having no idea how to sort it. So i just got a gmail account to forward to - what a load of bollox modern technology is.
