Probably recommending 160 GB because that's the smallest commonly available one just now. they are under £40 delivered so not a big deal, any of the usual brands will be fine. Western digital or seagate probably.

If it where an sATA would get 500gb as you might even pay more for 160! but the cost eefect pATA size does seem to be 160.

Ive bought a fair few spinpoints as they where reputed quiet running (F1 and F3 sATA drives) which have all be great, but to be honest there little to pick between any brand name hdd. Maxtor, Seagate, Samsung. Just buy any, needing pATA/IDE is limiting enough.

£36

If you want the best speed I would recommend going for a SSD. Although a tad pricey (64Gb ~£90) you can put all of your system files on it and leave the data to your existing drive. It is surprising how much quicker all computers are after this quick and easy mod - especially good for Netbooks (extends battery life loads!) but even my 8 core workstation goes like a scalded cat (not that it was slow before )

Cheers,
