OT - Converting ISO files to AVI or similar, how?

How does one convert DVD Video ISO files to AVI or other common video formats and split them into episodes.

Have tried Google but can't find much up to date info.

Open the ISO with something like ISOmagic or PowerIso (virtual DVD driver) then just use DVDdecrypter to rip the stream then use a VOB to MPG converter. Simples. You could try converting straight off the virtual drive but it might slow things down a bit as the computer will be running off the virtual drive.

[edited to change mp3 to mpg. doh]

Or if it's something already out there on DVD then it's probably much quicker just to download it from a torrent site as avi's already split into episodes.
