Oven replacement

Chaps,

We decided to replace our "built under" oven rather than repair - it's been repaired once already, so..

Has anyone any advice - Currys wanted £85 to install - bit steep if you ask me. I reckon

1) Turn off switch mains switch
2) Undo the 6 screws behind the doors (double oven)
3) Slide unit out
4) Ensure wires are dead, then undo wiring from old oven
5) Install new one in pretty much the reverse order.

Anything to add would be grateful.

Thanks very much

ATB

My Fitted oven has 6 screws which mount it into the kitchen unit, the oven slides out and the wiring consists of a 13 amp plug fitted to a wall socket .

£85.00 hmmm not a bad little number even if its hard wired into a fused spur thats only another 3 screws and taking out the fuse while you disconnect

On the other hand if anything F's up it's their problem... I paid to get our oven fitted, turned out we needed a new pipe because of the way it fitted so good job I didn't do it!

Pretty much as you say, some ovens come with the ability to connect three phase you just need to ensure the connectors are correctly in place for single phase wiring, I know some NEFF's are like this and probbaly some other european brands. You cant really go wront other wise, just make sure the screws are done up nice and tight

6 screws ---- usually you be lucky to find more than 2 chipboard screws holding it in.

hope this isnt too obvious, but built under double ovens are a bit shorter than ovens for larder housings, so make sure you get the right size!

The wiring connection is simple really, you sometimes need a T20 screwdriver for the cover so make sure you have one if you need it.

It's a PoP. Takes about 10 minutes. The most difficult bit is taking the old one to the tip Which they probably don't do.

Leave the old one at the top of the drive, the pikeys will have off with it within an hour. I fit around 4 a month and it never fails
