Anyone know what this connector is for?

I've recently bought a 5vy R1 engine which has the loom trimmed down to the basics. However..... when plugging in various connectors i'm left with 1 green connector on the throttle bodies that i have nothing to plug it into, this is the darker green connector, not the lighter one that goes into the air box. i've searched around and found a few wiring diagrams but struggle to find this connector on them.

Thanks,

Bri

I don't know the R1 but if it was gsxr then I'd say inlet air temperature (the sensor is mounted in the airbox adjacent to the TBI's)

Isn't that the air intake temp sensor?

+ 1

That's what it looks like to me too.
If it is it will probably throw up a fault code if its not connected - it does on 5PW anyway.

Here's another pic.

So you are saying that the green connector in my hand is the other end of the intake temp sensor?

If it is the intake sensor does this absolutely need to be connected? I don't have the clocks or anything to go with it so it will be hard for me to see any fault codes.

Thanks,

Bri

It plugs in to the water temp sensor on the engine block, once you fit the throttle bodies all will become apparent

It's located under the inlet ports on the block

ahhhh!! now i'm thinking it does make a bit of sense. I noticed the small black plug on the block yesterday and did wonder what plugged into that.

it's just when you think in your head.... Green plug, has to plug into another green plug.... so when i saw the black plug on the block i didn't put 2 and 2 together.

Nice one Chris.
