Emissions help
Hi All
I've just spent an over an hour at my mates MOT station trying to get the emissions sorted ready for test on Wednesday and can't get the
fast idle readings anywhere near. The engine is a 2005 R1. We tried minusing all the numbers but still couldn't get close with the HC and
Lambda. I had an SVA map on from adithorp. Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

CO is too high, max would be 0.2% High HC could be down to tight valve clearances, misfire ,plugs etc, CO too high , ignition timing out or an air
leak. Lambda is too high, could be an air leak , weak mixture but looking at the CO unlikely or possibly a leak in the exhaust, it only takes a very
slight leak to cause problems. Is the temperature oil or air, could be a bit higher so could be thermostat. Are you using a cat

I have two cat's on it, one close to the engine and one just before the silencer, engine runs really well with standard map. Temp goes up OK and
fan cuts in, could part of the problem be not getting the cats hot enough?? Don't know what I was really doing with the Power Commander, just
kept leaning it off more and more then gave up as I am sure it is more technical than that!!
Cheers

Hi
We have an earlier carbed R1 & failed the IVA first time on emissions
We had Austec Racing de-tune it as much as possible to get them right
but was still borderline.
I then fitted a shut off valve to the ais inlet , & whilst at the IVA turned it down & down
to finally off until the Lambda became ok.
every thing else seemed to fall into place ,
give it a whirl , you've nothing to loose.
Shut it off & see what the readings are.
good luck

Thanks for the info Rene, I have removed the ais as part of the breather mod, not sure if this will be causing some of the high readings??

Hi
Is it all blanked off ?
No leaks on the exhaust system ?
Nice fluffy feather to test for leaks.
