5.1 optical adapter

I have a 5.1 suround sound system (Creative P580) which I would like to connect to my PS2. The PS2 only has an optical socket and the suround sound system only has 3 3.5mm mini jacks (no optical). Can I get an adapter?

No optical is optical - light digital

3.5 jack is electrical/electronic.

I'm almost certain they are not interchangable. I used optical out on my CD to Amp and DVD to amp. AFAIK the optical wire is not an electrical lead.

I know, but i've seen http://www.minidisco.com/co2.html and was wondering if there was something like it.
