PayPal are driving me mad -- never again

For the past 2 to 3 years I have been using PayPal , no major transactions just minor stuff 5 to 40 pounds so it took me all this time to reach the PayPal verification limmit of 500 pounds -- after which you have verify your bank account. Verification stops PayPal in its tracks it takes 5 working days and of course in my case it would happen with a vendor who takes only PayPal, so the vendors payment has been delayed and I have been frustrated by the delays in the process.

After verification you pay your Pay Pal account by direct debit --- no choice of using credit cards, they are only used if the direct debit is refused, taking away any control you have of payment to your account This seems to me this is a very strange way of treating established customers. Of course what it really about is money direct debit means more profit for PayPal but it takes away any online transaction protection your credit card company may give you.

As a household we don't use direct debit and I object most strongly to being forced to use it. Needless to say I will be closing my PayPal account as soon as the current transaction completes.

Sure you carnt add a credit card?

I added my CC and when i pay via paypal it simply deducts from my CC. pretty simple imo.
Although my account is a merchant account for my web hosting business. i did add the CC before i upgraded my account.

Trident,

Can you close your account with PayPal and open another one? Then you'll be back to the arrangement you had before.

Ended up creating a new account and ......... you can't have two accounts registered to 1 credit card ....... buggeration. Similar situation where people are trying to pay me and .......

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHH
