windows movie maker

burnt a cd through movie maker but it wont run on my portable dvd player.I think the himat format of movie maker is not recognised by the dvd player even though the files are displayed on screen.Any quick solutions welcomed

You probably made a VCD, which a lot of players don't recognise. Try burning to DVD format, if you can, or an MPEG-4, as some machines will play them.

Some video players won't play mpg files or avi files. Convert to proper DVD files eg VOB and IFO. All should be well then - BTW NERO 7 will do it all for you
