94db 1khz sine wave
evening all
just bought a sound level meter from maplin but it needs calibrating, does anyone know of any free software out there that will generate 94db @ 1khz
sine wave through my computer speaker

There's no such thing. How efficient is your PC's loud speaker? They're all different. You can only calibrate yours by comparing
it with an already calibrated meter. That in turn is calibrated against a regional standard which is calibrated against a national standard. That in
turn is calibrated by the NPL who use special scientific equipment to directly measure the sound pressure level.

see if you can find a friendly radio control model flying club.....they will have one which they keep calibrated ask them how they go about it.

Where are you?
I'm on the Wirral and have the correct piece of kit to calibrate this.

Is'nt this a bit..,
If I had the equipment to generat 94db at 1 khz, I would'nt have been to Maplins to buy the kit to measure it!!

Dunno if this'd work but:
What about going to your local SVA centre and asking if you can calibrate it when someone else does their sound test?
Just set your gear to whatever the SVA guy records for the car.
