I need a new mouse.
Cos there cat got hungry
Seriously the mouse on this computer is driving me nuts, the ball keeps sticking despite it being taken to bits & cleaned a few times. As I know
nowt about computers what do I need to know & where should I get one? Are the ones that work with light any good?

the light ones are excellent - no need to ever clean them.
but, if you undo the screws on the base you'll find the little disks with lots of holes in them bunged up. clean these, put it back together and
you'll get another 12 months out of it.

Yes, much better. You
can get led or laser ones. The laser ones have a better resolution but the chances are you won't notice. Look for a good quality wired optical
mouse from the likes of ebuyer although when you add in the postage you may as well pick up one from pc world. Don't buy a really cheap one
because even starter ones from microsoft only cost 4 quid incl vat and I've always liked those. Logitech ones are good too.
The optical ones may not work on shiney white surfaces though so you may find you need a mouse mat. However they do work on most things including
cats, carpets, knees etc.

I dunno, like I said I know nowt about these things. You're talking about the type of connector, right? It's got a small (about 10/12mm)
round green plug on it & a pic of a mouse next to the socket.

Been doing that for a while now & although I'm getting fast at it, it's not really a skill I feel needs further development.

Ball free mice can be found under a tenner, reliablity varies Genuis mouse ain't too shabby -- a lot better than a mechanical mouse.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in
sideways, Chardonnay in one hand, Tequila in the other, body bearing battle scars and totally worn out, screaming- WOO HOO!! What a Ride!
