Its always bigger in Texas
I was in Houston over the weekend and went to the Rodeo, got a lift in a truck from a friend of a friend.
I know that Bush thinks global warming is a myth but the size of the vehicles they run around in is madness.
The Ford F450 Superduty (superdooty)
Its a monster.
The guy drives t to work in a office.
V8 Twin Turbo Diesel 6.4litres 350 bhp, wait for it, 650lbs torque.
I was dumbstruck and bowled over buy its crazy size. Its a double cab with a 10' x 6' flate bed with duel wheels and permanent 4 wheel
drive.
The salesman reckoned he might get 15 to the gallon on a good day.
Trip in the cab was reading 4mpg most of the time. But it does have a 35 gallon tank (thats all right then)
Oh and just to put you right off, $38000 on the road
The world is going to hell in a handcart

Sounds like a useful sized flat bad. Will take 8' x 4' sheets no problem and still have some room for some beers.
That is simply mahoosive

But it's a diesel!!!
Think about how many gallons to the mile the petrol version does!!
hang on a tick. 4mpg - 35 gallon tank. It's got a range of 140 miles????
I hope it comes with a towbar and a fuel bowser as standard.....

There's a poncy gimp round our way with one of those. I always take perverted pleasure when I see him having to move out of the way whilst his
car guzzles fuel (at UK prices!!) waiting for a gap big enough to get his barge like vehicle through....
I can't help but feel that you can tell a lot from someone who buys a pimped up cross between a limo and a pick-up truck....

Ahh, a Dualie! (dooolie, round here). In Oklahoma there are waaaay too many of these (along with Hummers,SUV'v, and Suburbans.) Ironically,
most dualies belong to either ranchers (who often own the mineral rights under their ranch) or to oildield workers. I figure they can deplete a well
before its finished drilling by jsut driving to the well site. There is always the bonehead who just wants to drive one to work at the mall though.

That one's for wimps.
You want an F650....
That one's a people carrier, not a truck. It's used to take the kids to school....
And to think that over here a Mondeo diesel fits into Red Ken's high CO2 vehicle list. grrrrrrrrrr....

this is a Big Truck!
It hauls three times the payload of consumer pickup trucks, is all-wheel drive, uses air brakes for unmatched stopping ability, and offers towing,
dumping, and tilt bed capability. Additionally, it features a 70-gallon fuel tank. The base price is $93,000, but options can easily bring that up
above $110,000.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
