Solidworks 2006 and Vista

Anyone successfully running the above?

I'm attempting to run SW2006 SP0 on Vista Ultimate and it doesn't work. :-(

OK, I solved the problem with SW2006.

Just in case anyone else has similar problems with Vista, you have to change the properties of the executable to run in XP compatibility mode and run as administrator.

Mixed feelings about Vista so far. It's definitely hammers the processor loads more than XP, and has not been totally stable. On the other hand it looks sexy. Hmmm...

Anyway, back to the CAD.

Is that the 32-bit version or the 64?

I've got the 64bit version and it is a complete nightmare to get anything to run!

Not even compatability mode and as Admisitrator seems to help!

There are sooo many bugs that need sorting out... the biggest problem seems to be the codes..

When installing programs they seem to look for "is operating system 98,ME,XP,XPSP1". Probably to stop it installing on older computers or other systems, but because Vista wasn't thought up when the line of code was designed it just won't work, Stupid!

It's the 32 bit edition, although I have a 64 bit processor.
