Vista and Office XP compatibility?
Would Windows Vista get on OK with a copy (or should that be copy of a copy if you know what I mean) of Office XP Pro? A guy I work with has just
bought a new PC and I would like to help him out with software.
And while I am asking - how about AutoCAD 2004?
Thanks David.

Vista is basically based on XP. in a round about way. If its a legit copy it shouldn't be a problem. pirated copies may be a problem as there
will be no available upgrades to suit.

A friend of mine has just done the same and installed a 'copy' of Office 97 which seems to have gone smoothly....

Office 2003 works fine with Vista but 2007 is lovely

As stated already, office will work fine, but Autocad 2004 probably not, I have 2005 and it does not like vista at all

I have found that a few progs like Vista better if they are executed in 'XP compatability mode' or 'run as administrator'

Both programs are working fine.
AutoCAD 2004 was installed (and will be used) under administrator as advised. Excellent.
