WIFI internet gone t!ts up - Help Required
Right just cant get my head arround this one even though I should be able to sus it.
Backgound
2 XP computers sharing a bt broadband connection via belkin WIFI router all been working OK for approx 2 years until yesterday.
Computer 1 works fine and connects to WWW OK.
Computer 2 connects to the WIFI network gets DHCP address will connect and download ( non openworl ) mail but will not connect via BT openworld
logon.
when I got there found that the DNS service was stopped so 'Restarted that' but still wouldnt connect
SO I have tried the following :-
1 Restarted router - OK
2 Checked PC for viruses - Non Found.
3 Restarted PC - OK
4 Tried to connect to router HTTP setup page - Fail
5 Changed DHCP - No Change
6 Connected to shared folder on other PC - OK
7 Downloaded/installed Firefox attemt to connect to WWW - Fail
8 Cleared Temp WWW cache - OK
9 Tried conectiong using Known working Yahoo Logon ( from other PC ) - failed
10 'Repaired' WIFI Connection - OK
And still the bu66er wont conect to the WWW
But Intestingly
Booted PC intoSafe Mode with networking ( conects to WWW fine).
Going to check with Hardwired cable
But its got me completly stumped must be missing somthing any ideas where to go next ?

Go to command line (cmd)
Type the following 2 lines exactly as shown
telnet www.yahoo.com 80
GET /
Do you get the raw HTML display?
If not, try
nslookup www.yahoo.com
Should return a "real" hotname and address for the alias www.yahoo.com
If not, then probably have a problem in your TCP/IP stack - got a MS/Mcafee/Norton firewall module on your machine?
If it does return an address then you've probably got something blocking outbound connections - again I'd check your firewall settings
carefully.

Yep -- sounds like a stack problem.
A couple of years back I used a small bit of freeware that repairs the windows TCP/IP stack -- it worke a treat.
