Aberdeen pass

well guys had the sva this morning and im very pleased to say it was a pass.

started off a little damp this morning but it soon dried up by the time we got into Aberdeen.

Sva man (Doug) was the same fella that had put Marks car through and recognised Mark straight away which was a good sign.

Doug couldnt have been more pleasant and was very fair with his testing,

first off was emmisions, we had to lean the carbs (twin 40's) right off to get a pass and had to do this several times until the point where the car barely ran, many other testers probably wouldnt have allowed this, so doug was a top bloke.

He barely looked at the sharp edges, jus checked everything looked ok.....this could only have been because of Marks presence, and the fact that he knew Mark would know what he was doing.

Brakes worked well.....and passed without any problems

speedo....calibrated with Marks GPS was spot on

the self centering worked a treat due to Mark chopping up the MK top wishbones and re-fabricating them....this helped alot as the car felt alot better too.

so a big thanks to Doug the tester and Mark for his help making the SVA a very pleasurable experience

a trip to the dvla wasnt quite so smooth, doug filled in all the chassis inspection paperwork for the dvla and faxed them copies after the test.......they said they would need to check over the forms and will take a few days so a bit more waiting to be done.....ah well, cant win them all

so all in all a very good day resulting in a first time pass

I cant thank Mark and Maggs enough, if it werent for them the car would still be sitting at home in my garage for another year or so.

thanks to everyone on the site for the help and support too
you know who you are

cheers

patrick

Sterling Effort! It looks the business.

I hope that same guy Doug is still around in in 2008/9 for my SVA.

Keith.

Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

Congrats, & car looks great!

Looks like there is quite a wee contingent up here in Aberdeenshire; are there any gatherings organised for us lucky folk? I may start a new thread with this one.

Today is a good day: I achieved new heights of ineptitude.
