Locosters in Aberdeenshire

Beginning to realise that there is a fairly strong contingent of locosters up here in Aberdeenshire. Has anyone organised a meeting of like minded individuals to get together and discuss their cars?

I also understand that the Alford track (my local) is hireable, which I can look into if there is enough interest.

How many people are actually building in the Aberdeenshire area?

I'm about 75% into my build and it would be good to know who is in the area, just incase help is needed. I plan to have the car finished by the end of the year, having never done anything like this before, I will possibly run into some problems.

I'm about a mile outside Alford on the Aberdeen side.

I'll go and speak to the GTM and see what the score would be.

And agree, it would be good to know who is building in the Aberdeenshire area, although I bought mine built, there is still a lot of building to go!!

Hello again,

I'm actually going tomorrow morning. They let general public on the track between 10 & 11 only. Price is about £34 which is pretty good. This is all at your own expense so if you wreck the car, tough! I can see the points about organising an event there because then you would need all the insurances etc.

Obviously the timings for general public are not ideal but it could be a case of meeint g up and popping along. £34 per person for the hour is not bad but if there are too many people it may be £34 for one lap!!!
