can't access the internet

I have a laptop which I can't access the internet on it gives an error 403 Forbidden. Access denied due to access control list.

I originally thought it was to do with MacAfee so I have removed all of this but the problem is still there.

I have installed firefox and this does it aswell so it is not just IE7 that's the problem.

Where would these lists be?

A 403 error is an access denied error, given by a web server. Not usually a laptop setup issue. Unless you have some odd proxy settings, I'd be very surprised if you get this from every website.

If you get it from every website, check your proxy settings: - Tools, Internet Options, Connections, LAN settings - Assuming you're on a normal home internet connection there should be nothing in these settings.

Sounds like a dns error --- your ISP dns servers may down or have got corrupted, if it is it will sort itself out after 12 hours or so.

How do you connect? Are you using a router which gives you an IP, or dial up?

It could be a certicate blocking you in the Public Keys Policy, and check that your router is getting you an IP and the DNS is set up correctly.
