Win 32 Trojan
A friends PC has recently been infected with the Win 32 Qoologic trojan. He has uninstalled the Anti Virus software that came with his PC and
installed AVG and CleanUp in an attempt to fix it but he still has the virus. Any suggestions?

Could it be that the Trojan has found its way into the System Restore files and or 'back-up files?
Have you tried, turning off system restore, start machine in 'safe mode' run (up to date) AVG.
Keep checking and running in 'safe mode' until system is 'clean'.

I've forwarded the link, so hopefully it's easy enough to follow and will allow him to remove it successfully. Cheers.

I seen a couple of trojans recently that infected put a dll file in the system32 directory.
Only way to get rid of them was a start up in safe mode, turn off system restore, delete the registry entry by hand using regedit. Then restart in
safe mode delete/rename the file then reboot, then run Antivira
