vista s*** thing
hi on windows xp you can click on control panel and add and remove programs. but i cant find anything like that on windows vista. iam trying to remove
internet explorer.

It's called 'Programs and features' in Vista control panel.
You can't remove Internet Explorer though, it is an integral part of Windows (and was in XP too).

You will never remove that as most of windows is written using it, if you managed it there is a fair chance when you booted up you would just get the
background image and thats it

I installed Firefox them made it the default. IE doesnt run on mine so no need to un-install.

Yes just install firefox let it run as default and delete the IE shortcut icons from the start menu and desktop.

thanks guys only iam having a prob trying to get ie to see my network. the network icon is at the bottom of the computer saying that its connected.
but ie just wont open the internet up. i was thinking to uninstall it the redo it to see if it works. its a brand new laptop aswell.

Sounds like IE is looking for a proxy server make sure it is set up for direct connection.

Vista sees networks whether internal or external as public networks and blocks traffic, have a play with the security settings in control panel.
A few month since doing the vista course and haven't seen it since!
Do you have Mcfee sec suite installed, known problems with the mcfee firewall and vista firewall.

Firefox for windows is actually just a new front end for IE, it still uses the main bits of IE.
You will never uninstall IE from a windows system, as others have said, windows needs it to run.

No Firefox isn't a front end for IE -- it has to use the windows networking stack and a couple of dlls but other than that like all the
Mozilla & Netscape browsers it stands alone.
Avant and to a lesser extent Opera are just revamped IE.
