withdrawing ebay BIN bid

Hi,, just done a buy it now on a ginetta on the bay, but having spoken some more to the owner it transpires the car has been in a front and rear accident, so with his agreement i've pulled out of the deal. question is do i have to do anything on ebay about the fact that in theory i've still bought it, i can't see anything about withdrawing a bid on the site

You can widthdraw a normal bid, but I don't think this applies to BIN items. In this case you haven't placed an auction bid but made an offer to buy the item.

Was the accident info daclared on the ad? if not you are quite within your rights not to buy, it being significantly different to the description.

no it wasn't mentioned in the ad, i had a rush of blood to the head went for it and only when looking more carefully at the photos realised what may have happened, rang the guy up he then said it had been crashed, although he said it was a straight car it put doubt in my mind , to wipe out the front and rear must have been a fairly hard knock we then agreed not to go thru with it

Assuming it's the G27 in Bognor then it's already back on with zero bids.

That would be my understanding. Decent trader to allow you to cancel that easily, they could have made life difficult.

You can sort of work it out from the piccy's but it's not obvious.

Might be seen as misleading?

Cheers

Chris

He said the car was straight, but he's put new wishbones on it???

It might be straight, but you wonder if it's been properly checked?

"""Hi Ya, Yes it has, But the damage was on the bonnet and rear on the o/s NO chassie damage or sus damage, both wishbones were changed bacause they were made to a poor standard, please phone if you need anymore info, Cheers John."""

But he hasn't put the reply on his ebay ad so he is trying to hide it from people...
