13" wheels

Hi all, will 13" wheels fit onto a sierra based front end..

They will, it's the rear discs that can cause a problem IIRC.

the normal sierra / non ABS ones should be fine (240mm front discs with rear drums)


but I think the 260mm ABS / XR4 type front brakes might be a bit big for 13" as they come with 14" on the Ford and there isn't much space left

either way the hubs are the same - it just depends which brakes you have / want

wasn't quite sure if they would fit or not, good to know about the disc diameter.

if you need a set of the smaller front calipers these are the on most mk3/4 escorts as well as the sierra's

Check ground clearance too. Newer cars tend to have geometry that favours bigger wheels. I will likely need to go to 15's, at least for my provincial inspection.

Common tyre sizes are 185/60/13. 205/55x/13 for 13" rims and 195/50/15 for 15" rims which are the same outer diameter.
