New HD camcorder/computer problem
I have just bought a Sanyo HD1010 camcorder that can do 1920 X 1080 pixels at 60 fps.
The quality is unbelievable, but not so is the problem of editing this format
I have a Toshiba Equim Laptop 2 ghz dual turion 64 with 4gb of memory (shared graphics) but even this stutters with this camera.
I have tried lots of different players and editing software, but the results are the same.
It seems that trawling through the net, many others are having the same problem with even higher spec machines.
Other than recording lower res , anyone have an idea how to sort this?
Cheers Martin

How good is the throughput of data from the HDD? Is it SATA or IDE?
What codec is the video compressed with, I'm guessing you're not just pulling off it off raw?
Whose codec are you using to play it back, and through what application?
Worth trying http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ as thats about the best all round player.

It is Mpeg4 H264.
Won't play at all on quicktime. Plays on media player but with errors.
Hardrive is in laptop so guess IDE. Media recording is on 16gb sdhc Class 6 sd card.
I'll give videolan ago but it was reported bad on that too

try it on a full pc - sound to me as though the graphics aint up to it (we had it at work a while ago - now video editing is done through a fully
loaded (inc gc) pc -
better still - use a mac .....
There's no substitute for CC's

I don't want to buy another PC
I have managed to get the files to play correctly using Nero 8 but editing cannot be done as the app hangs.
