Taskbar strangeness

Following recent updates to both Firefox and winXP, my taskbar has gone awol from it's normal position at the bottom of the screen, and has reappeared in a blue pane to the right.

I'm sure it just needs a click in the right box to restore it to the normal place, but my limited computer skills can't find which one - anybody else had this, or know the fix?

Mouse over the task bar, press the left mouse button and drag it to the bottom of the screen. Then right click on it and 'lock the taskbar'
