Unstable Firefox
Is it me, or is anybody else finding the latest version of Firefox rather unstable? Keeps crashing with autotrader, and sometimes struggles with BBC
iPlayer, amongst others. Getting rather frustrating......

I've noticed that autotrader often crashes with FF3 (wasn't visiting that site before updating to FF3 so not sure if was occuring
before)....
I think there's a memory leak. It initially works but the longer you stay on it the slower it gets...

I found FF to be very unstable. It made my computer very slow.... What advantage does it have over IE?

Yep!
I had Firefox 3 and AVG 8.0 it was hopeless , crashing every few minutes.
So re-installed an older version and removed AVG.

Not tried FF3 as currently trialing Google's web browser - Google Chrome. Not bad and certainly loads initially quicker than FF.
For anyone who wants to try it:
Google Chrome
Has a few interesting features e.g. thumbnails of regular sites visited on load page, "incognito windows" for *ahem* viewing, search and
recommendations when you type into URL section.

This XP PC is using Firefox 3.03 -- it is stable as a preacher.
Same goes for the Linux PCs.
Only problem with version 3.0.x seems to be the text zoom issue which is inferior to 2.0.x versions.

Firefox 3 is rubbish, I tried it, got bored with sites crashing and blue screens, then reinstalled the last version of 2.....how they could get 1
& 2 so right and then completely f*ck up on 3 is beyond me!

Have you all checked that you've got the latest build? When v3 came out it was a bit iffy, but they issued updates within days that sorted it
all out.
I've had no problems with v3 on Linux or Windoze.

Firefox 3.03 here with Vista and no problems with Autotrader site. I have had a couple of sites where it stopped working but no more than earlier
versions or IE7
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

3.0.3 here, and solid as a rock, smaller footprint than IE and faster page loading, no probs with any sites I've been to

I wonder if it might be something to do with the very iffy service pack 3 for XP.

Mine too. I have FF3.03 running on my home desktop, laptop and at work and I honestly can't remember the last time any of them crashed.
