just to confirm, whats the correct procedure to dispose the doner car? get the guy who taking the car away to fill in the V5 document and supply a receipt? or do i need to do something else if the doner car is used for a kit car? Thanks

Depends if you want an age related plate or not.

If you do, you need to keep the V5 registered in your name and delcare the car sorn. Remove all identity from the bare car (VIN and #plates etc) to stop gits nicking the identity for another car.

If not then you fill in the V5 and declare it scrapped to the DVLA. I think you send the V5 to them when you declare a car scrapped though. Cant remember now!

Most of the time scrappies dont ask about the registration docs...
