One of the cars that inspired me. Such a shame. Hope it gets back on the road.

James - 15/8/14 at 01:17 PM

Rob,

Wow! This is a sad day! Your work and your car inspired me hugely during the days of my own build!

I even copied your blue/silver colour scheme!

What happened? How come you're selling?

Cheers,
James

Big inspiration to me too back in the early 2000s when we were on Yahoo Groups. Always lots of support and common sense from you Rob.

Big surprise to see this car reduced to its chassis, and parts. Like all replies here, your car set the main example for plodders like me, and your website carried such useful info.

Having read your reply, I can see why you wanted to get rid of the car, and regain some garage space. But why not sell the whole vehicle? Is it more likely to generate the value by selling the parts, as opposed to selling the vehicle complete? This seems to be a trend, as there have been several other builders on here, selling their disassembled vehicles.

Just seen your edit - quote "Wife gone mad, change of mind. - unquote. And the pics have gone!!

Okay, there's clearly a very interesting story here....

Feel free to explain all!

Still means the car is in bits though!

I think he is in the garage putting it all back together!

MikeR - 15/8/14 at 05:09 PM

Considering how long it took to build - I expect it on the road in two weeks

Hope your wife calms down soon (and this isn't cause she realised how much more the car is worth assembled)

Panda - 15/8/14 at 05:16 PM

She thought I was putting it back together after a 'refresh' like I've done 3 times before.
Calmer now after I pointed out was too much work. Best offer for full car was much too low after many tries selling.

Anyway thanks for offers guys off u2u but a very nice man has bought it and some other bits from elsewhere.
