That's not how uncle Ron ment it...
1300 for a bit iron, no way!

Ben_Copeland - 1/10/09 at 06:32 AM

Not sure there would be much left of the original XE if you were running 1500HP

Mr Whippy - 1/10/09 at 10:49 AM

I'd like to know just how did they test that to 1500hp and even if they did...why?

flak monkey - 1/10/09 at 10:57 AM

They more than likely havent tested it. Its likely to be based on the assumption of the strength of most steel cranks.

Its like forged steel rods. They are all good for at least 800bhp and 12,000rpm and this is what is generally stated as their limits, but no one really ever runs them to that.

cd.thomson - 1/10/09 at 10:57 AM

haha, yep thats what I was wondering whippy..

although they could theortically have tested it, i dont think it could have been in anything resembling an XE engine as they could never produce that..

If they've been inaccurate with the testing then £1300...??

iank - 1/10/09 at 11:08 AM

You probably can get 1500bhp out of an XE, but it will require a truck sized turbo and only run for a few seconds.

In reality I really doubt they will have tested it and it's just marketing BS.
