Just been given a crate of Guinness but it is 4 months out of date, started drinking it today and it doesn't taste too bad just a bit of a fizzy
taste!
Will it be ok?
You will find out sooner or later lol
aye!!
If you don't get the squits and a throbbing head it's probably gone off.
Fizzy taste??? Put it down the sink!
I watched a program that explained that food & drink products tend to go out of date due to excessive bacterial growth, not really something to ignore

it will be fine. Theres very little potential for bacterial growth in a sealed can. Mouldy bread does you no harm either.
It would be a 'best before' date rather than a 'use by' date, which is totally different.

I am absolutely fine, not gone blind, no problems whatsoever!

And get increasingly better looking, the more pints you down.
According to Charlie Papazian in the New Joy of Homebrewing:
No harmful pathogens survive alcohol and acidity content of beer.
Bacteria that causes fowl smell and taste does....
So if it tastes OK, then it should be OK.
And even if it tastes foul and stinks, it's still ok if you're desperate because it has no harmful pathogens! Wow, isn't beer amazing.
