Well worth the damage to the saw to save your hand but how sensitive is it to other things, will a damp spot in a sheet of ply where the roof leaked in or you spilt your tea trip it & cost you a load of time & money?

or if your finger brushes the side of the blade whilst moving an offcut? I often stop the blade by pressing on the side.

I think you would spend a fortune on new parts for it, the solution is to just take care using a normal saw.
