Skulachev's findings have been backed up by the international community including Dr Blobel, who won the Nobel.
There was an interesting section a few months back on the R4 program on maths and its abuse a while back. They were talking about how the
'average' age of death was calculated (there are lots of way depending on which agenda you are trying to push btw).
One guy came up with the average age of death of someone under 30 as being 1000 these days. The argument being that there a a whole bunch of
potential treatments for the effects of ageing that could become possible over the next 5-50 years. If they work then you could live until the next
lot are discovered and continue on. The age of 1000 is apparently the rough average age you get to if accidents and murder are the only causes of
death.
The above argument ignores the massive problems having people stop dying and the resulting population explosion. If they do make it work you can bet
it won't be available to anyone except the super rich and powerful.
