The flying squirral type suit was invented by a French guy years ago. He dropped from a ballon and then glided from the UK, across the channel,
landing in France.
Still, an awesome video though. 
... great tune too!

I remember a guy who had one of those suits but had strapped a couple of small rocket engines to himself to extend the flight time!!!
I have to admit to being a little disappointed about him using a parachute! Coulda just rolled with it! 
Or, go a little further and get to the sea... nice soft landing!

little holes cause the wing to inflate to a proper aerofoil shape, and apparently you can get 10m along for every 1m you drop.
especially as he seems to jumping a BASE rig, ie no reserve!
