Parking ticket
Ninehigh - 23/3/13 at 09:53 AM

Just got a £60 ticket from work for parking at work while working for them. Given that the ticket was under 2 inches of snow do I ignore it as I haven't seen it or do I ring them later and ask what the hell?

Unless it's a council run carpark, just ignore it.

Well it's not council run, it's run by my employers!

What really gets me is that I get a ticket on the third shift, so they know it's my car too

At the Uni where my wife works the car park was under 3 inches of snow which had fallen overnight. When the thaw set in in the afternoon the car parking company ticketed all the cars which were not parked within the white lines of the 'designated parking spaces'.

The trouble with these companies is that they are not paid anything for the job they do. Their sole income is from tickets issued, so they can be a bit overenthusiastic.

As said ignore it if not council issued. They will never take action, it will cost them too much to pursue it through the courts as in will be a civil action.

Oh ... And the company got sacked after that little episode!
