I'm sure it's magnets, like some of the old slot racing cars, downside is you've got to have one front and back with a car this size which adds to the weight, although this can be offset with helium filled tyres so I been told.

If it had your Mazda KLZE engine then yes, but not with a pinto upfront. It's a well known fact these things have a mass equal to a collapsing star (ref Viz).
