I have about 20 frogs in my pond all having sex...............................Lucky b*****s

They weren't there yesterday!

They don't actually have sex Andy. The males attach themselves to a female and when she lays the spawn they release themselves and fertilise it, no actual penetration takes place. If there's a shortage of females you'll sometimes see several males all attaching themselves to one female, resulting in her death from exhaustion carrying them round or drowning under the weight of them.

The pond at me wife's school has been taken over by frogs, they have come from the common over the road from the school, could have been worse, the 40 or so that are squashed on the road would have made it alot more hectic for them !!
