F.E.A.R.

For those who like a good action shooter PC game I can highly reccommend FEAR. Made by the same people who developed Half Life and Half Life 2 (Sierra).

Its a rather spooky game, and good to play with the lights out and turned up really loud.

I would tell you the story, but you can find out all you need to knwo from here:
http://www.whatisfear.com

It needs a high spec machine to run in high resolutions, and as it is a directX 9c game it really does need a new graphics card (GeForce 6xxx series onward). Runs at well over 60fps on my machine in 1024x768 and all details on max.

Recommended spec is:
3.0GHz Processor
1Gb RAM
256Mb GeForce 6600
Soundblaster X-Fi soundcard.

Though it will run on lower machines

Highly recommended

David

At the moment it is sit and play games or get on with my work...games are more appealing at the moment...however I should get on with research for my project!

I can confirm this, F.E.A.R. is an awesome game, and you can nail gun people to the walls or the ceiling if you're any good!

Here is some evidence supporting this!

He even swings when you hit him!

Its great fun. i can play it with all the detail etc on, realistic gunfighting is awesome. Debris flys everywhere, and in the middle of a battle you usually have to stop to let the dust settle

You can blow holes in walls. Liquidise people qith shotguns along with pinning them to the wall. Good stuff. One of the best games I have played in a very long time!!

I find the desire to destroy in one so young quite disquieting.

PC games ain't realistic.
Reality however, will give you a much bigger adrenalin rush. It will also give you a rush in your pants that a PC game won't.

Try it, I guarantee you will not like it.

You will find those that have, apart from a few head cases, crave peace and quiet and the only thing that they want to put the boot in, is the throttle.

My advice is build your car and enjoy it.

You must be, like, some kinda n00b, PC games, like, totally pwn you, you just gotta use the uber micro.

The desire to destroy things is human, why would it be odd to find it in younger people? ^__^ kekeke!!1111

I have no desire to destroy anything real. Or get involved in any kind of actual violence.

No PC games as a rule are not realistic, they are often very OTT, but this makes them half the fun. You can crash a car and not get hurt, get shot at ad live. When a new game gets referred to as realistic it would generally mean that is better than anything that has come before. There are more details in the graphics, and the way the computer bots respond to you.

Games should be taken for what they are, plain and simple fun, a way to pass some time.

Those who take games too far/seriously will probably end up trying something they have seen in one. Then end up hurting/killing themselves or someone else.

I am building my car as quickly as my cash flow will let me and when it is built i shall throughly enjoy it.

I agree that gaming can go too far, look at the recent case of a gamer from China who played for three days and nights solid without any break then died from dehydration or something related to not eating, drinking or sleeping.
I like my adventure to be real, i have bult fast cars, sailed across the Atlantic twice, swam with sharks, white water rafting, caving, climbing, etc etc, but dispite all this and more, sometimes its nice to bung on GTA and steal some cars and shoot coppers cos its just a game.
Play any game you want guys and enjoy it as much as you like but always remember that its NOT real.

Bloody hell, if you can afford a pc good enough to play F.E.A.R on full detail you certainly ain't counting the pennies. I have a £150 special so that I can spend money on the car

Only joking, happy gaming
