!! OMFG!!
Seriously blown tractor engine
Time to take the racing overalls to the dry cleaners!
He looks a bit glum in that later photo, can't imagine why.
It ripped the block in half! What, was he using 12.9 head studs!
Glad there was no sound , think it may have been a big bang.
pistons are huge!
What do you think stopped from moving?
Mike
Consider a 6 litre (approx) diesel engine designed by the manufacturer to produce 125 hp all day every day. Add 3 stage turbo charging (total boost maybe 50psi+), various other mods but stock block and crank etc.............output 2500 to 3000 hp. Just once in a while something goes bang. Regs. require shatterproof clutch housings etc. If you've ever seen one on full chat you'll know what I mean.......awesome ! Makes a dragster look and sound tame.
looks like the crank case just split all around the outside. I dont think anything stopped moving - i think the top of the engine decided to move with
the combustion explosion rather than the pistons!

Just looking at those pistons - I reckon that engine must be somewhere in the region of 12 litres.
or i/2 a mile away
Now that's what I call turbocharging !!
