Only reason he can do that is the cart has a slippy diff fitted! Cheers, Pewe

I did wonder if the horse was enjoying it as much as the driver...

...sometimes you can see when an animal is enjoying itself in some human activity - for example, just watch huskies while they're hauling a sled - but a horse is a half-ton bag of over-excitement and nerves!

Good driving skills though.

if a horse weighs 1/2 ton, would that mean 1 horse has 2 bhp per ton ?

iank - 18/12/07 at 01:54 PM

No, because 1hp is about 50% more than an average horse can maintain over a day.

Gergely - 18/12/07 at 03:11 PM

Yes, but it's a sprint event, not endurance, so he doesn't have to maintain its power for a day...
So 2 bhp/ton should be reasonable...

Can you drift with less bhp/ton?

How many engines could maintain their rated maximum output for a whole day?

Include the cart and he's probably only got 1 hp/ton anyway

carpmart - 19/12/07 at 07:48 AM

So, 1HP, no wheel drive and you can drift

Any production engine should be capable of doing that (given adequate cooling and engine in good condition etc). Have you ever seen the torture tests that manufacturers put engines through during development?
